With a huge huff she handed me back money with no words whatsoever and an extremely miserable look. ![]() I said no, that I just needed to get back to our hotel. ![]() I quietly stood there and she looked at me rudely said "is it because of the rain?" (It had started to drizzle). On going in to ask for a refund (I just politely explained we had a change of plan) the young waitress rudely quipped they don't do refunds. It's absolutely worth the extra steps! My partner and I had initially booked with the other tour but as we waited our time slot (30 mins later) I saw how crammed all their little boats were and realised we'd made the wrong choice. Their quay is slightly further down in a calmer part of the river but not even 5 mins walk from the other central bar-based company. One operates a crammed service with rude bar staff selling tickets and by contrast this one provides a calm and warm welcome with more spacious boats (look out for the flowers on the front)! A few points to note: they have slightly larger boats, they don't cram them full, they offer various languages and are very welcoming and professional. There are two main boat companies doing tours in Colmar (same route / same price) but they clearly have very different values. Perhaps the downfall here is you've got busy bar staff considering these bookings as extra work? Not friendly at all! Walk 5 mins down the river for a warm welcome at the other one :) Extremely unprofessional and rude and totally confirmed my decision was a good one! A shame because the guys doing the actual tours/driving boats seemed much friendlier and full of energy. She huffed/rolled eyes etc and reluctantly gave me a refund without saying a word. After a quick check online and seeing the other company pass (larger boats / floral decorations), I realised we'd made the wrong choice! I went into the bar to ask for a refund and simply explained we had a change of plan, the bar waitress rudely told me they don't do refunds. But on seeing the queues and how they were packing everyone onto the small boats, I started to have my doubts. Booked on a tour whilst having a drink on their terrace as there was space for a tour in about 40 mins. ![]()
